Galileia, Spin-off of the University of Padova, was founded in June 2008 by Arturo Lorenzoni, associate professor of Energy Economics and Fabrizio Dughiero, associate professor of Electrotechnics at the Department of Electric Engineering (DIE) of the University of Padua. The other partners are Laura Bano and Fabio Bignucolo, both Ph.D students at the DIE. The aim of the company is to supply knowledge and services in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies.
Galileia's services are mainly focused on supporting investment decisions for all the interested stakeholders of the energy sector, companies, public administrations, financing institutions, consulting companies, sector regulatory authorities, both alone and in partnership with the University and other companies. Galileia aims at working as a consultant and as an Energy Services Company (ESCO) with an integrated approach covering the technical, economic and financial aspects of energy investments, representing a bridge between research and operators.
The spin-off is a new and outstanding entity when compared to the traditional consulting companies operating in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sectors, because of the university research background of the partners and their consolidated relationships with the main stakeholders in the territory.
The skills characterizing Galileia are the following:
1. Knowledge of the technical, economical and regulatory aspects of the energy sector,
2. Scientific and technological competencies in the feasibility studies, planning, installation, financing, operation and maintenance of renewable energy plants,
3. Ability to complete energy audits for the industrial, public and private sector,
4. Experience in the contractual aspect of the electricity and gas supply services,
5. Professional education in energy related fields,
6. Application of research in the renewable energy sectors.
